How about number 6: None of the above. Looks to me like a boon docker was painting rocks.

I'm going with 4.

Cain't ya jes play by the rules? I'll bet you've seen rocks like this a few miles south of where you are camped now, down around the foothills of the Santa Ritas, Sahaurita, Green Valley. And for the same reason.

I'd rake up all those blue speckled rocks and set up a garlic mine. At the farmers market, you can realize $12 to $16 a pound for good garlic.

Well, I know of a boondocking RVer who would just love to rake up these rocks, or any rocks for that matter, and smash the big ones into little ones.

i am with 4 unless it is turquoise...

Okay. Number 4. Actually, it is probably chalcopyrite -- the ore from which copper is refined.

I'll say copper...and are any of the choices related to the rock in the picture? :)

Our Contestants did rather well, except for Wandrin.(grin.) Thankfully nobody chose #5. It is a copper ore, chrysocolla. See the writeup on Wikipedia.

Waydaminnit! I did too pick #5. I didn't mean I'd rake up the rocks and use 'em for anything. I meant I'd rake 'em outta the way, so I could open me a garlic mine.

In a garlic mine, you don't have to do much diggin and garlic is worf a whole lot more than copper, these days.

OK Paul, have it your way. And here I was thinking that you were just joking.

I think it is copper!
