I smirked and rolled my eyes this morning when I read about the attacks on the oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz. Does the Netanyahu/Trump administration really have that low of an estimate of the intelligence of the American public?
Then again, maybe I should cheer the Netanyahu/Trump administration on. A good spike in the price of oil might be all it takes to bring on a global recession. The means bye-bye for Trump. It might also slow down the tourist traffic in Colorado this summer. Recessions and low prices are beneficial to retirees, especially ones who are in the market for a new motor vehicle.
I don't watch cable news but they are probably parroting charges against the Iranians. Until any independent evidence shows up, here is my explanation for 'who dunnit.' Netanyahu finally convinced the Trump administration to bring on some sort of incident that Iran could be blamed for, and would achieve their long term dream of starting a multi-trillion dollar war with Iran -- fought and paid for by goyim morons in the US, of course.
And American presidents have a long term record of success with this kind of thing.
The plans (and blame) were laundered by passing them off to the Saudis, who then laundered them again by passing off the dirty work to one of the Gulf States. Just about any small ship would serve. Technical experts from Israel/USA helped them launch the torpedo.

58,220 +- dead Americans and an estimated 1,300,000 total killed.
And what was accomplished?
The US war industry made billions. Not unlike Dick Cheney and Halliburton years later.
Has anyone from the Trump Crime Family ever served in the armed forces? No.
Don't you think they will buy it, I do, wish I didn't.
I think the United States first did it to start the Mexican–American War. The US moved troops into a disputed area and when the Mexicans fought back the US declared war.
Then the Spanish–American War started because the Maine was blown up by 'someone' and the US declared war.
Or WW I which Wilson said we would not get into. But the Zimmermann Telegram made its way to President Wilson who released the Zimmermann note to the public as casus belli.
Or WW II which Roosevelt said we would not get into. But at the same time he was campaigning as a peace candidate he was making secret war plans. Then poked and prodded Japan with sanctions and insults until they fired the first shot at Pearl Harbor.
The Gulf of Tonkin did not start the war in Vietnam it just accelerated it. Although they are always called wars neither Korea nor Vietnam were ever declared war by Congress, they were conflicts. I don't know this for certain but I don't think the US has fought a declared war since WW II.
