The God of Democracy Has Feet of Clay

It wouldn't earn me an 'A' in high school civics class, but I plan on paying little attention to the presidential election this year. Presumably it is not necessary to list all the reasons. Suffice it to say that it is an embarrassment, before a world audience. People in other countries must be amazed that a country that elects presidents like we do, could possibly be a world power -- actually, the world power.

So I will avert my eyes to diminish the pain of watching the spectacle. If I were to watch it, the result would be anger, sourness, cynicism, etc.  And what good would any of that do anybody?

Nor I am arguing that democracy has no value just because it isn't perfect. Our system is terrible but we don't know how to improve it or won't bother to do so, and we don't know what to replace it with. Let's assume that many Americans feel the same way.

Why then do they think that 'Freedom & Democracy' are such deities? Why do they feel smug and superior to other countries, to the point they think they have some god-given mission to practice regime-change on other countries, regardless of the suffering and death that ensue?

But surely I should do something constructive, instead of just hiding from reality? Well, I am: I am re-reading "Churchill's War" by David Irving. The myth of World War II, the good War, the greatest generation, and Churchill standing alone against Hitler, is the fundamental myth of the America we live in and the world lives with.

Churchill wasn't a n ostrich.
The origin of this idiom comes from the incorrect belief that ostriches (a large bird with a long neck and large body) put their heads in the sand to hide from danger because they thought that if they couldn't see their attacker, their attacker couldn't see them either.

It's a ridiculous idea and not true but we humans are also very dumb at times—especially when we try to pretend there isn't a problem when there is one.

We can only hope that others who are presently disillusioned with the present administration get off their backsides and do something about it in November.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It's about time.

Looks like the Left has the choice of a Socialist Sanders or a Senile Biden. I'm thinking that Biden is just a puppet of the Soros crowd.
Just my opinion.
And why can't we add hominy in our comments??
Anonymous, What is hominy?
