The Indispensable Country, The Exceptional People, The Judge of the World

From a CNN article we have:
"President Obama made clear that Russia's continued violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity would negatively impact Russia's standing in the international community," according to a statement released by the White House.
Gee, aren't you happy and proud to live in a country, like the USA, which would never seriously consider violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of another country?

Have you ever studied game theory? The type of statement above is simply posturing...found throughout the animal world. Every country does it though I agree completely with your analysis. The games continue well on down into corporations and families as well.

I bet Putin and the rest of the Russian government are loosing soooooo much sleep over the prospect of the international community thinking less of them. (sarcasm off)

In terms of "game theory", Russia and China play chess while the US plays checkers.

Sooo true (chess/checkers). I've witnessed that first hand in the "People's Republic.

James Howard Kunstler was thinking just like you when he wrote his blog for this week. He said:

The last time I checked, there was a list of countries that the USA had sent troops, armed ships, and aircraft into recently, and for reasons similar to Russia’s in Crimea: the former Yugoslavia, Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, none of them even anywhere close to American soil.
It would make me nervous to be in Kunstler's camp -- that big overgrown college sophomore!

Breaking news: Vladimir Putin has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

No joke. This is true.

Why not? President Obama received the award after only months in office and before he ramped up drone strikes worldwide. Who's to say Putin isn't equally deserving? I don't know what's in the water up in Norway, but it appears they are really starting to lose it.
And Putin helped the Anointed Country's president stay out of war in Syria.
