"President Obama made clear that Russia's continued violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity would negatively impact Russia's standing in the international community," according to a statement released by the White House.Gee, aren't you happy and proud to live in a country, like the USA, which would never seriously consider violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of another country?
Have you ever studied game theory? The type of statement above is simply posturing...found throughout the animal world. Every country does it though I agree completely with your analysis. The games continue well on down into corporations and families as well.

Why not? President Obama received the award after only months in office and before he ramped up drone strikes worldwide. Who's to say Putin isn't equally deserving? I don't know what's in the water up in Norway, but it appears they are really starting to lose it.
And Putin helped the Anointed Country's president stay out of war in Syria.
