It pretty sums up where we are in the US now. There is no America anymore. It's just a jumble of tribes and special interests that care nothing for anything common. Trump and Biden are just symptoms of the disease and rot. The US may be the only country ever founded and held together by ideas rather than shared nationality. Destroy, denigrate, and deny those ideas and we have nothing in common. Because of this foundation, the eventual decline and collapse of the US has been predicted by philosophers since the early 1800s. It took a long time for those predictions to come true. We had a good run.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4600429566875341122.post-34713428302650478092024-03-13T16:22:36.719-06:002024-03-13T16:22:36.719-06:00Barb in FL, I didn't know that FL had pushed ...Barb in FL, I didn't know that FL had pushed against the Daylight Savings scam. You need to be largely self-sufficient in many ways, yet food and water are heavy and difficult to stock and carry in quantity. We easily carry a one month supply of food and are good for water for about 10 days. In extreme rationing, we could stretch the water to 15-20 days. Also remember, If things get really bad, and RV is just a rolling piggy bank waiting to be looted by a group with more people and "capabilities".

The fulltimer/boondocker is independent and vulnerable at the same time. We cope by boondocking on our own property for six months a year and venturing out into the wild for the other six months. The home base isn't a house, but it has everything else required to live well. If things ever get dicey, we hope it's during the six months were on our own land. As an example, we were boondocking in the CA desert in March of 2020. We pulled up stakes and headed out the day before CA locked down for Covid. We were on our own land two days later. That was a minor example. At some point, traveling to get to a "safe" spot could be a dangerous activity.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4600429566875341122.post-78202810167879218792024-03-02T15:45:33.040-07:002024-03-02T15:45:33.040-07:00Ed, yes about the vegetables.
